Pucallpa-Iquitos

One of the best memories that I have about travels, is when I went to the peruvian jungle in 2005. That was the first time that I was so far at home. I and my exboyfriend took a bus from Lima to the city of Pucallpa. I was so exciting because all looked so new and exciting there. People, food, landscapes all was amazing. We were very lucky because in the bus we knew a peruvian who invite us to stay with him in his home. We stayed there by three days. Then started the most exciting part of the trip: our travel by river to the city of Iquitos.

We were three days in the ship. We ate over the ship, (the price of the ticket was very cheap, and food was included) we took a shower with the water of the Amazonas, we woke up in the morning (7:00 AM) with peruvian cumbias that sounds very loud, and of course we slept in HAMACAS! You woke up, and 40 cmts of you there was a face strange saying hello.

All was incredible, the experience was unique. Good people talking to you, live in a ship like a big family. Of course, not all were nice. I remembered there were a group of militars very stranges. But I remember that trip with love and nostalgic. Two years ago I came back to Iquitos, but from Manaos.

The sad part of this history is that when I arrived in Iquitos, I was so tired to travel by ship so I didn`t know very well the city, but that´s a good reason to come back again.
